Why this tutorial?

So, recently I was using the DaVinci Resolve on Ubuntu, thereby I encountered a problem where I was unable to mount drives other than drive where my OS files were held, in the ‘Media’ tab. when I was trying to mount manually without opening the drive to be mounted, in terminal, it was not showing up in the directory.

How to mount?

To mount drive named ‘Data’ in the media tab.

Drive/Folder name can be anything

  1. Open the drive to be mounted, in the terminal via the triple dot or with ‘Right Click’ on your mouse, as shown below;
  2. Open DaVinci Resolve
  3. Open a project as you wish!
  4. go to top left corner of the interface and click on ‘DaVinci Resolve’ -> ‘Preferences’ -> ‘Media Storage’ -> ‘Add’ -> type in the path from the terminal manually. and Hit “Save”. now, the path will be shown in Media tab.
Blue text is the path for the drive to be mounted
